Hi everyone,
i have what my mam always called a beauty spot on my back, is this the same as a mole?? Light brown largish spot!
Anyway. my back has been itchy for a few days and i was scratching a while ago,(tonight), and i realised it was bleeding quite a bit! I had a look,(as best i could), in the mirror and realised it was the mole/beautyspot i had scratched! Am a bit worried now!!
Any advice???

If it was actually the mole that was itching - not just the general area and your scratching caught the mole - then take it to your GP, angeliz. (Or if you're not sure.)

Thanks Janh, i can't figure out if it was THE spot itself that was itchy! Will get dp to have a look tomorrow as i can't se it!!!

Agree, get it checked. It's probably nothing but still...

I also suggest getting it checked out. I have to have an occasional "mole check" with a dermatologist (I have quite a few moles) and have had some removed, all of which have been harmless. In all likeliness you have scratched it.

Agree with the others, always worth checking out and do not take no for an answer from your GP.

In Australia I am sure it would be whipped straight off- better safe than sorry. I've had quite a few removed - all benign - but the proceudre is no hassle.

Agree with everyone else, have it checked out. I have quite a number of moles and a couple of years back thought one of them (quite large anyway) had grown. I mentioned it to my Dr and she referred me to the hospital straightaway. At the hospital they measured it and decided it was big enough to be suspicious and it was removed. As it was nothing was found but I am quite glad to be free of it as it was a source of concern.

thanks everyone.
I will have it checked out but i know i'll be putting it off,(though i shouldn't).
It's actualy quite sore today!
