Dental mouth washes for inflamed gums- any dentists there or experiences?

I'm battling with bleeding gums- not seriously-only in one small area of upper jaw. I see the hygienist every 4 months. My dentist suggested using a mouth wash as well as the usual cleaning, flossing and small brushes.

However, Cortisol makes my tongue sting and gives me a foul taste that lasts all day and really affects my sense of taste. I discussed this with the dentist and she suggested another brand which they sold me ( you can also buy it OTC) and the same thing happens. Last night I woke up with the most awful taste in my mouth, making me feel slightly queasy, and the tip of my tongue feels dry and sore.

Is this normal with a mouthwash? Can anyone suggest anything else?

Anything with hexetididine., that said Corsodil contains that ingredient too. Is it something else in the formula that is making you feel queasy?
