Headlice question - how do I remove the empty eggs?

I'm fairly confident that she now has no live lice on her head due to a combination of treatments and lots of wet combing. However, she does have loads and loads of what looks like empty egg shells clinging to her hair. I think they are empty because they are quite a way down the hairshaft and I have read that newly laid eggs are usually very close to the scalp. Combing doesn't remove these shells so what else can I do, it's quite unsightly when you start rummaging around in her hair, bless her.

Ugggh, I'm all itchy now.

Nitty Gritty comb!

It's very effective at removing egg cases
