My sis went ot the Gp and he took her blood sugar and she said it said 3.6 mmol/l he just grumted and wrote things down (as they do) she has been tring to find out if this is a normal result it says on the link though that normal range is between 4 and 8! is 3.6 very low do you think?

No not at all. She could have been hungry, or if it was early morning breakfast may not have been absorbed. Mine has been as low as 1.8 and am not diabetic, but was early hours of morning so I was hungry (was bored on a night shift in a nursing home, so we practiced on each other)

Colditz- if your blood sugar metermeasures in mmol/L; most ones in UK do, then you should get a lab test, 1.8 isn't due to being a bit hungry, it's v abnormal so could be a dodgy meter ( most likely if you felt well,) or possibly a health problem.

By the way Helenemjay, I agree 3.6 if just fine for a hungry person!

ooo. It was years ago.Must have been a faulty machine, I felt fine!
