Holiday booked, now got to have lumpectomy one week before

We booked and paid for our family holiday, one week in Dorset cottage, some time ago. I now need to have a lumpectomy which is scheduled to occur a week before our trip. I am contacting the owner to see if there is an outside chance of moving the holiday to later in August. However if the holiday can't be moved and we do go, how will I feel? I am 50, do plenty of exercise and eat well - am I expecting too much to think I can enjoy the break even if I can't go swimming etc?I am not sure whether I might be better off staying home and letting my husband and MIL go without me?

You will have to see but I would have been ok to go a week after mine, I wasn't in much pain but probably wouldn't have wanted to sit in a car for a long time with the seat belt rubbing. It takes a while to get over a general anaesthetic too. But if you can't move it and are prepared to take things as they come and have lots of rest while you are there it might be a nice change of scenery.
