Argh! Pill making me break out in acne!

Just gone back on microgynon 30 after not taking it for around 3 years and it has caused me to break out in horrible acne spots on my face, chest and back. There's loads, big and small... and they're sore! I can't deal with having this many spots so I think I will have to stop taking it.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a pill out there that won't give me spots?

I would go back to the GP and ask for a different brand.

The microgynon is a combined pill, right?

I found that I always had good skin on those - but that the progesterone only type (mini pill) gave me horrendous acne.

Am prone to acne anyway - but Dianette is the one that clears me right up.

I have heard that Yasmin is also a good one for clearing up/not giving acne.

Im on yasmin specifically because it stops acne. No problems with it at all and is a combined pill.

Seem to remember hearing not so good thongs about dianette, can't quite remember what though...

reaction to the pill is very personal and other people's experiences are of no relevance. But clearly this pill does not agree with YOU now, so get to the GP and ask to try something else.

Have been prescribed Dianette by gp, she seemed to think it was better than Yasmin?!

Dianette is the best for anti-acne.

It's the only thing that clears up my skin. Unfortunately I am too old now and have a blood clotting disorder which prevents me being prescribed it.

Give it a month and you r skin will be virtually perfect. No excess oil or spots. (gives me very big and achy boobs though, it's worth it).

I used to take Yasmin for my skin which worked ,but after coming of it for a year or so and going back on I broke out big style. All round my jawline and back ,proper cysts. Apparently it can take 6 months for it to settle but didn't seen to be getting any better after 7 months so came of it. When I googled it I found out that sometimes going on the pill a second time can bring you out in spots (don't know why ). Have got the Mirena Coil now ,had it in a few weeks back ,and so far so good :)
