Do I need to get my leg checked?

Yesterday when sorting my playroom out I went to move a large storage unit by bending down and trying to drag it along. I felt something "pull" up my lady parts and stopped what I was doing.

I was ok after that until I was out last night (in high heels!) and started to feel some pain in my knee and down my thigh. This pain was just minor really.

Got home (pissed) and went to bed at 12ish to be woken at 1am by the most horrendous pain. I couldnt move it at all, couldnt put any weight on it and there was no position for it to be in that wasnt incredibly painful

Ended up crying most of the night, it was like torture until DH got up and went to 24hr tesco for painkillers at about 5ish. I took 2 nurofen and 2 paracetamol then managed to get a little sleep.

This morning it is way better than it was at 5 in terms of it not being excruciating all of the time (presuming this is the painkillers) but still cant put any weight on it and it hurts massively when moved in a certain way.

The pain is all down my thigh from where I imagine the socket to be down to my knee.

I really have never felt pain like it!

When it was bad I was determined Id done something really bad and would have to go to hospital but now it has improved with pain relief do I just leave it>?

Im panicking a bit as I am a childminder and wont be able to work if my leg is out of action!

Any thoughts?

no, get it checked.
but by the gp rather than waiting in line at the a&e on a saturday. youve probly just pulled something. hot bath. andsomething warm wrapped round it, like tubigrip stuff.

It is possible that you pulled your ligaments around the "socket". Another possibility is that you tore some of the fibres in your muscle. If you stand on your good leg and raise your bad leg and the muscle hurts it?s possibly the latter, if you can't bear weight then you possibly damaged some ligament. They might give you an anti inflammatory and tell you to keep of the leg for a while. But yes, I agree have it checked by a GP or A&E if it is unbearable.

Doesn't sound broken, sounds like soft tissue (ligament, tendon or muscle). I'd go see a physio (if possible - GP otherwise), and take maxdose of iboprofen (nurofen) today, as that actually reduces the inflammation.

Yup -go to gp

rest today, keep taking nurofen, go to gp on monday if still really painful.
