11 month old making herself vomit

Hi,

I'd originally posted this in the behaviour/development area, but am moving it to the health section in the hopes that I'll get some advice!

I'm hoping that you wise MNers can help me. My 11 month old daughter has been chewing on her fingers (she's getting her incisors in) until she gags, and/or vomits. She's been sick once a day (though she definitely chews far more often) for the past week. I can't seem to get her to stop.... I've tried giving her other things to chew on (bits of bagel, breadsticks, raisins), but she definitely seems to prefer her pudgy fingers. She thrusts several fingers as far back into her mouth as she can. Is this a result of teething and will pass on its own, or something I should be really worried about?

Thanks for your help!
