Lighter skin patches on son's arm

My teenage son has a couple of patches on his forearm that are a bite paler in colour. As I get very anxious about health I've become a bit obsessed by it and am really annoying him looking at his arm all the time! My main worry is vitiligo but he was at the dermatologist due to something else and I mentioned it but she wasn't concerned. Now I wish I had asked her more questions. Anyone noticed this on themselves or kids to reassure me it can be normal. Thanks

My dd has lighter patches on her body. It just looks like a pigment variation and I have never worried about it.

I have it on my hand, never seen anyone about it. Probably vitiligo but it hasn't spread or anything
More noticeable in summer when I have some colour
