wasp sting

I got stung on my arm on Tuesday teatime, by a wasp, and it really hurt!
Yesterday my whole lower arm was swollen and red. Today the redness has gone down a bit, but it still feels really hot, and soooooo itchy. It's about the size of a tennis ball now. I've been gulping piriton, and rubbing sting cream over it since Tues.
Am I being a baby, or do I need some antibiotics? Does anyone know please? Thanks!

sounds like cellulitis - need antibiotics. Wasps are dirty things and this one must have had a dirty bottom. Poor you, usually sting goes down fairly quickly. hope you feel better soon.

I wouldn't mind if it stung me in retaliation for swatting it, but I was just minding my own business when it sat on me, and stung me!
They are getting dozy now aren't they!
I know i've been stung by bees before, but not sure about a wasp. Once I rolled over in bed, and was stung on the bum, as was in the quilt! Sounds waful, but I don't remember it being toooo bad - obviously more fat there to cushion the nerve endings!
