What's the best way to find a dietician?

Hi, I'm looking to seek the advice of a dietician for my 9 year old daughter. She has special needs and health problems so it's not straight forward. I don't know anyone who's seen one before, so I can't ask for recommendations.
I would have to go private as I've tried before to get help but it's been turned down by her consultant who's advice was "Just give her more fruit and veg" before even asking us what she eats at home. Hmm
So that's it really, how do I go about finding a good dietician in my area? Thanks. Smile

GP referred us to paediatric dietician.

Thank you. Smile I'll try our GP. We didn't get anywhere with the consultant, but then she was a cow!

Get a referral from your Gp. Otherwise try the HCPC website where dieticians and other HCPs are registered

Sorry for brief reply before I was in a rush. We kept a food diary for two weeks before so the dietician could see what current diet was and we talked about 'food issues' too.

I am a dietitian & find the refusal/reluctance of other professionals to make referrals very frustrating!
Do you have involvement with any nurse specialists or other team members like physio, OT? They may be able to refer to a dietitian, especially if it is a team.
Pm me if you need more advice (on finding someone, I can't give you specific medical/dietary advice).
