Hi, I need a bit of advice for dp and I.

I keep getting thrush I have come to the conclusion that I must have given it to dp and every time we have sex he passes it back to me.
I keep treating it with canesten and have just been to the chemist to get more.
So, my question. How do we treat dp? He obviously can't use the pessery or internal cream! And is it possible without him seeing the gp?

I find it really embarrassing!! It took me weeks to go to the doctor the first time!
Was it the external cream he used?

DH got it from me when I was pregnant last time, he just used the normal canesten cream and it cleared up immediatly.

Yes my dh and I have the same trouble with 'sharing' thrush. It isnt an std as I ve suffered with it for donkeys years and usualy get it just before my period. My dh uses normal Canestan cream and it clears up in no time.

The bacteria that cause thurush occur naturally in all our genital areas. It is only when your bodys pH balance is affected that it is able to activate as such. Antibiotics, pregnancy and diabetes are some of the causes of this, instead of creams try a tampon soaked in 'Live' yoguart as this will help stabilize things higher up inside or there is a one off tablet you can take that is supposed to settle it. You can buy it without prescription but is v expensive ~£10-12. Or there are also canesten pessaries that you put into the vagina at night that also help. If you can you should try and stop having sex until it is settled as you will both keep passing it back to each other.
