I would suggest giving him little drinks of water when the coughing gets quite bad. If he's no better in the morning, I would maybe ask your HV for advice?? Sorry, not much help, but it seems like so long ago my dd was 10 wks old!

Have you got a humidfier? I found it to be so useful. They are about £25 and I promise you will use it over and over again once the coughs and colds start coming! Good luck

try and prop him up so he is not laying flat, and make the room a bit more humid - eg a bowl of water near him or a damp cloth.

£5 more than I remembered but something like this might help

is a vaporiser the same as a humidifer?

turned out he has bronchilitus (well we think so.) can you believe i have been taking him to the doctors for this long and they keep telling me nothing is wrong with him. it was the last straw when she told me i was wasting my time and refused to examine him. i left the room in tears and took him straight to A & E and he has been in the childrens ward since tuesday. odd seeing as nothing is supposed to be wrong with him. anyway they think its bronchilitus / bronchal pneumonia but we are waiting for results to come back. they won't diagnose him with asthma yet as he is too young but have basically said he has it so wil be prone to stuff like this. i've been telling them since day 1 i thought he had asthma!!
