pulling pain and discharge from right breast but no lump!

I'm going to the breast clinic on Tuesday as I have been having discharge from my right breast for over a year. I've recently had pain, sometimes shooting and sometimes pulling pain. The doctors couldn't feel a lump but because it's ongoing they're sensing me to the breast clinic. Over the past couple of days the pain is getting worse so now I'm worrying myself. I'm young(ish) 28, with two kids and breast fed both.
Has anyone else had these problems and if so what was the outcome?

I've no personal experience of this, nor am I medically qualified in this field but I was wondering if you were a smoker? A friend had similar symptoms and after all the tests to ensure she was ok the breast nurse said it was because she was a smoker. Apparently smoking can actually trigger one or both breasts to make and leak a milky discharge. Sometimes this comes with a bit of discomfort and/or pain in the affected breast.

I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and that you get the appointment and all clear sooner rather than later so that you can put your mind at ease.

Thank you for your reply! No not a smoker (bar the occasional drunken ones when I was younger and thought it was oh so cool!) Less than 10 ever so I don't think that counts?!
Fingers crossed it's nothing. It can be so many things I guess, it's just always that niggling feeling that it could be something worse but I know worrying won't help! X

It's so hard not to worry though. I had to go to have a lump checked out and then consultant said he'd do a needle biopsy. I went white and was thinking 'you're going to stick that massive needle in my boob?!' Anyway, thankfully it actually wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. It was uncomfortable but the worst bit was waiting a week for the results, which were thankfully all clear. So if you're told you need the same, don't panic as it's not that bad....sure it's uncomfortable but it's not as bad as you'd imagine when someone suggests sticking a needle in your breast!

If you don't have an inverted nipple that's usually a protruding nipple then I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. Please let me know how you get on. Wishing you all the look in the world that it's just a milk duct playing up.
