Ok so now I have some Co-Codamol (500mg paracetamol & 30mg Codiene)

The Dr said to alternate them with Ibuprofen - I asked about stronger ibuprofen - he jst said take more

I was so het up about the epidural/operation he promised/threatened me with I didn't really listen

I'm sure I should only take 6 ibuprofen in any 24 hrs....is that right?

How should i take the co-codamol/ibuprofen?

5pm 2xC
9pm 2xC
??7am 2xC
11am 2xC

But I think I might need some in the night...and where do I put the Ibuprofen?

I must be a bit ditzy today I'm so confused

It depends what sixe tablets of Ibuprofen you have. It will tell you on the bottle/packet.

You can take the Ibuprofen with the Co-Codamol, so, for example, if you were having a really bad time of it you could take doses of both at the same time ( and the doses would be on the packet/bottle).

If you weren't too bad, just take the one that you feel works enough.

Codiene always makes me feel so dozey and I wouldn't drive if I've been taking max dose and if you take them long term they can cause constipation.

If you're still confused about the dosage, just ring your pharmacy, A&E, primary care or whatever you have near you open at this time for advice.

And don't worry about the epidurals you mentioned. I'm a veteren of these and various spinal treatments (I have chronic sciatica). What op are you talking about. I'm happy to chat about it if it would help.

Well I know now I cannot drive on the CoCodamol - I am so woozy

I'm looking forward to the constipation as I have diahorrea from the ibuprofen

He says I might have a slipped disc? or it might be to do with anklising spondytus (which my dad may or maynot have)

Weeee I feel a bit dizzy....they could sell this stuff on street corners I think

So 2 every 4 hrs is a non starter

Maybe 1 every 2 hrs?

I can't tell you the exact doses as I don't know what size tablets you have (and I'm not medically qualified, just a fellow sufferer!)

Phone up the people I suggested for confirmation. They will tell you over the phone.

Ok 1 co-codamol is OK (not woosey, not sick)

Lets see how long it lasts?

That's OK Katymac. Just hope you get it sorted. Chronc pain can be very draining. Hope you get some relief.

Katymac · 07/09/2006 22:20

I can do 1 co-codamol every 2 hrs - not woozy not in too much pain and able to move (just)

More and I can't work
Less and I can't work

So I'm in balance (so to speak)
