A cyclist crashed into my foot, I was walking along and they caught my heel.

It hurts when I walk, but I can manage to walk slowly, no bruising but my heel is a bit swollen.

I'd feel much worse if my foot was broken wouldn't I?

I don't know about feet, but I managed to break a bone in my wrist at the end of last year and continued to work all day (using my hands a lot in my job) with it before deciding it might be sore enough to warrant checking out. I was a bit gobsmacked at the xray results to be honest! If it is swollen and sore then probably better safe than sorry.
