maybe a soap you are using? or washing powder on your bra?

Mum2FunkyDude · 03/09/2006 12:53

It is possible that it is hormonal. Ask your hv to check.

Hm...could be that Baby acne thing (my es had it really badly...honestly he looked so bad I felt like denying he was mine ;)
Also, Breastfeeding is quite a strainious (sp?) exercise for lil ones, and all mine tended to get really sweaty whilest feeding and sometimes they gotten a Heatrash...could it be that?

TomsMumLP · 04/09/2006 16:20

Mine gets milk all over his face, which gives him spots...He also had baby acne on his face & that spread to his chest. It goes away though.

It's highly unikely, especially as it took a few weeks during which you were feeding. It can happen, DS1 couldn't tolerate some things I ws eating that passed through, but is very rare indeed, and Ds had other health isues going on.

Could be perfume, something clothes wise you're wearing (wool?) or as the others said, washing powder or soap.

Does he ahev experssed bottles, and if so does it happen then?

prettymum · 05/09/2006 22:24

i think it may be because the milk sprays all over his face when he decides to play about, i have been eating a lot of fish lately and i think it may also be that. ds' face is starting to get patchy, iv started ff now aswell which has been helping

Nothing to do with milk but DS used to get eczema around his mouth (he had it elsewhere as well) - how old is you LO?

prettymum · 05/09/2006 22:52

he is 7 weeks, i think it might be eczema, his face gets very dry and the poor boy, he trys to itch and ends up getting soo frustrated! ive been using aqueous cream which has been helping but his face keeps getting more patchy

Maybe it is the formula that is causing the reaction?
More plausible than the breast milk.

prettymum · 05/09/2006 22:56

no, its not, i only inroduced it 2 days ago to see if it helped to clear his face which it has, he started getting the rash from about two weeks, i'll be seeing gp on thursday so might get an idea whether its eczema or just a rash

prettymum - are you using any bathing products? Baby bath is a common culprit. Bathe him in water only. It is probably the heat of his skin against your body makes the rash look worse rather than breastmilk. Also do not use biological washing powder. HTH.
