A bit worried about "heavy" feeling in leg

For the past few weeks or so I've been getting a "heavy" feeling in my left calf from time to time. Not sore just a bit swollen and firm. I do quite a bit of exam marking at this time of year which involves lots of sitting still.

I've just thought it was one of those things but now am starting to worry it's a DVT. Is there anything else that this could be? Of course I am away from home and also at work today and tomorrow before a long drive home on Sunday but I should be able to see a doctor on Monday I hope. I'm not feeling short of breath (have been looking up pulmonary embolisms) and it's the same as it's been for a while.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Is it painful to squeeze or hot? Is the skin puckered or marked?

Not hot and not painful to squeeze when it's swollen. There's a deep red small bruise I noticed last night but I'm not sure if I got it in a normal way or not. I do notice most bruises but can't remember doing this one.

Lots of factors can increase risk of DVT. I won't ask you about those, but I would recommend seeing a doc as soon as. At least it can put your mind at rest, if nothing else.
Could be a muscle tear, phlebitis, DVT, cellulitis, venous insufficiency…so see the doctor.
