Do 'Chickenpox Parties' happen anymore?

Does anyone remember them?
My mum threw one for me, we even have photos to commemorate the occasion, and I remember my siblings having them.
What a crazy idea, surely?

Ds had chickenpox because I actively mingled with some children who had it when he was 3. It got it over with although he said plaintively at the time 'mum, why are you quite keen for me to get corn pops?' - early immunity's not easily explained to a 3yo but I managed

My friend is a 38 year old maths teacher and has picked it up from a pupil at school!

DD has just got over it at nearly 9

She had it much worse than the minded children had it

They were all under 3 and their skin has marked much less than hers - as young skin heals better

The younger the better imo (after about 6 months)
