Spotting and bleeding after sex

Hoping someone can help as worrying myself sick here!

Normally have a regular 28 day cycle (tho non ovulatory) but last month my period was over a week late. A week after it stopped, I had a days worth of spotting and did feel like I had pmt.

I,ve also been spotting after sex for the past two months. I last had a smear 5 years ago and got another one booked in for 19th June.

The only thing that's changed recently in my lifestyle is that I,ve list 10% of my body weight but nothing else going on and I feel well in myself. Just can't help worrying there must be some sinister reason for the spotting or some pre- menopausal thing (I'm 38 and undergoing fertility treatment).

Has anyone else ever experienced this withiut there being a major problem??

This is exactly how I first started peri menopause.

I had blood tests, scans etc and it was conclusive.

I was 39.

That's what I'm scared of, my sister became peri menopausal at 32. Would I still be able to conceive with Ivf if that was the case?

It could be a cervical erosion that can be cauterised. Can you make an earlier appt to be checked? I found the family planning clinic very good. I had all my smears done there & you get a check with the nurse first & then a through exam from the Dr.

I don't know the answer to that belle sorry but did you mention to your doctor about your sister? Premature menopause does run in families. Good luck

I never thought of the family planning clinic so thanks for that idea. Def no chance of getting seen by the practice nurse at the gp's any sooner.

I,m having a meeting with the fertility docs on Tuesday so I'll mention it to them as well.
