What should I do with this cut?

I just cut my hand on a glass as I was washing it, stuck a sponge inside a wine glass to clean it and as I twisted it the glass broke into my hand kwim?

Its quite a small cut tbh, probably about an inch long, but there is about a 3mm gap (excuse imperial and metric meaurements in same sentence!!) between the wound margins. Its still bleeding slightly about 15 minutes later, and it really really hurts. I used to self harm and my cuts never hurt like this!! I am a bit nervous that it will still have glass in it and I don't know what to do really. Should I wash it out or cover it up or leave it open?

I'd go and get it looked at really, just to be on the safe side

When dd cut her hand on glass we couldn't take her to A&E until the following day as we had a plane to catch (great timing). We dressed it after running it under cold water and left it till we got to a&e. Dd wouldn't let anyone look at it but the nurse assured me any glass would work its way out. They also couldn't stitch as the wound was already starting to heal. She was fine.
