Turns out its a very large cyst, im worried!!

I started the fibroids thread.

Turns out i have a large cyst, and it needs to be removed. Im really worried, whats the process for this? will it affect my fertility?

Does anyone have any experiences that they can tell me about?

Hi izzybiz. I had a large uterine fibroid removed in April. I had general anaesthetic. 3 incisions were made, one in my belly button (where a small camera was placed) & one on each side of my uterus, where they inserted the instruments (scalpel, etc). It was okay, a bit uncomfortable & def painful at first but was on morphine for 36 hours & then had a hugely swollen tummy. I had my tubes "tied" at the same time as I've had my babies & can't take hormones but I'm certain that having fibroids removed will not affect fertility in any way! ask your gynae!
