this morning my 9 year old dd showed me a small lump underneath her armpit just on her side, does anyone have any idea what it could be, it was quite sore to touch

probably an inflamed gland .. like the ones in your neck

is she fighting a cold or virus

if you're worried take her to gp and get it checked

my dd(12) had one of those and I took her to the doctors all in a panic. Dr said it was a swollen gland and would go down. It comes and goes, I think according to how tired she is. If you're worried take her to the doctor for some reassurance but it sounds very like my dds bump. hth

I don't think it's her glands because it's not in her armpit as such but underneath her armpit, it feels like a small cyst, just wondering if I should leave it a while or get it looked at

My brother had this when he was a baby - it turned out to be an abscess which had to be removed at hospital. If it's sore and doesn't go down I would go to your GP asap
