I know you're all going to tell me to go and have a smear test already. But aside from that, what could it be?
For the last few months I have had period-type pains and a teeny bit of blood between my periods.
I am scared that it's cancer now, and putting off the smear

Hello !

I think you can get a bit of bleeding (and definitely pains) when you ovulate would it be around then ?!

But, you SHOULD go and get a smear done just to make sure....

hairymclary · 30/08/2006 21:40

hello

yes, it could be ovulation actually. I am crap at keeping track of dates etc.

ok, I will go and register at the doctors tomorrow and make an appt. just in case

Go and see your GP and have the smear and some swabs done - its the only way to put your mind at rest. You can get bleeding between periods for other reasons like an infection and its most likely nothing to worry about so what are you waiting for?

Sometimes fibroids can cause such symptoms to arise.

Do speak with your GP and if GP cannot help ask for a referral to a gyanecologist.

Hairy-I had this problem and felt just like you.Turned out to be a harmless polyp and following a quick removal all seems fine.
