the neck muscle thing is ongoing after an injury 20 odd years ago, and occasionally it goes. this time, it is the worst it has ever been and it feels like a knife is being driven into the back of my neck.

so far, i've taken ibuprofen, co-codomol and ibuprofen gel (not all at the same time!) but nothing is helping the pain. when dh had his gall bladder out he was given tramadol by the hospital and there is still some left, have never taken tramadol before, are they best avoided or will it help?

never take medication that has not been prescribed to you is my advice

  • tramadol is a serious drug!!!

It'll make the pain go away, however you will lose a good few hours to staring idly at the fishtank (though it will only feel like 5 minutes) or watching how the water sparkles as it goes down the shower drain.

When I broke my elbow I used Tramadol only on an evening to help me sleep. I coped with the pain during the day or I'd have spent 6 weeks admiring dd2's guppies.

Get to the doctors and get something prescribed for yourself.

If you can't do this, can you wait until bedtime?
Don't take it if you have to drive anywhere or do anything for the rest of the day.

Hope you can get an emergency appointment and something to feel better soon.

whilst the transformation into what sounds like a walking zombie sounds actually quite appealing right now Wink, i have avoided the tramadol and nipped out to the chemist and got extra strength voltarol, i used to get these when they were only available on prescription so am hopeful they will help.

Heat. Really helps.

Tramadol will work as above. Wish it was possible to 'like' posts!

gp and low dose diazepam for the muscle Spasm. it's quite helpful in low doses for short periods. tramadol is the devils medicine.hate the stuff.
