Fibroids, any experiences??

This is a little weird.

I have an enlarged uterus, i can feel it above my pubic bone its very hard.

I have had an implant now for 2 years, i saw GP and he had a feel and asked if i "felt" pregnant.
I didnt think i could be with implant.
He said well either you are pregnant or its a very large fibroid!

Have to have a scan this week, but ive been reading up on fibroids on the computer, and the symptoms always seem to include heavy or prolonged bleeding, and pain.
Ive had neither, i havent bled for about 4-5 months.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Is there really no one else who has fibroids??

I had them, (had altra sound scan when had pain after sex, found fibroids and cyst)...

but by the time my operation came around (6 months approx) they weren't there.... so they didn't do anything.....

Then 6 years later when pregant saw then again on the scan. loads, and one very big one could have been in the way during childbirth so they scanned me every few weeks etc.

I had to have a Gen ant CS in the end anyway so didn't make any difference.

I guess they are still there, but cause me no problem, so didn't have anything done about it...

If you haven't had period for 4-5 months I would def take a pregnacy test or scan........

I had them, then they disappeared. I never knew they could do that. But when I did have them, I didn't have excessive bleeding or pain. But my period would start, go for about 4 days, stop for a day, then start again for another 2 days. Apparently that is common symptom of fibroids.

themoon66.. I didn't know that, as my periods were the same, every 5 weeks, but on 4 days, stop then start again...

Strangely enough after I had DD they aren't like that anymore... so maybe mine have gone again.....

had my scan, turns out its a very large cyst.
I need to have it removed, and im a bit scared of what this means, does anyone know how it works? will my fertility be affected?
Im really worried.

I guess it may depend on where your cyst is???

My didn't cause any more problems, as I said it had dissapeared by the time I was in the hospital..

If I remember correctly, it was going to be lasered...

Pretty sure no-one mentioned ferlitiy issues... but not really sure

I've got large fibroids, which I investigated having removed. In the end my consultant advised against it, as it would have been a big operation and the fibroids are located low down around the cervix so if things went wrong during the op, it might have damaged my cervix and that could have affected my fertility. Don't know if the situation is the same for cysts, although it would seem to make sense.
