Cystitus........Kinda wierd?

I got cystitus on holiday (Tues) - I took one of those 48hr packs and it faded, it came back yesterday and got quite bad today & I started getting back pain at the bottem of my shoulder and low back - on the right

I went to the drop in clinic and they tested my wee - there is no infection - just keep drinking and take pain killers

I was a bit non-plussed as I had a bladder repair 3 yrs ago - & am always a bit careful 'down there'

Any ideas anyone? I can keep taking the pain killers but it seems a bit odd that it went & came back

Or am I a wuss?

its just that in one of my pg's ( I was m/c ing actually) but when they questioned ectopic they asked if i had any pain in my shoulder - others will know better than me but ....

Katymac · 28/08/2006 21:10

I had an ectopic about 6 yrs ago
The pain was at the top of my shoulder/arm and much more severe than this

This is lower down towards the bottem of my shoulder blade

i wonder if the two could be related - do you get cystitus a lot. I know when i went through a phase of getting it a lot those drink things would clear it up for a few days but often i needed anti biotics..how bad is the tummy pain?

Katymac · 28/08/2006 21:14

That's the problem - I used to get it loads - but have only had it twice in the last 3 yrs - both times it cleared up with those sachets

But there is no infection according to the dipstick thingie

They said it was irritation

still bad today

Do you think something could have gone wrong with my bladder repair?

It's been and come back three times now

Is it worth another visit to the Doctor?

how about phoning nhs direct, they might be able to put your mind at rest. otherwise drink loads of cranberry juice, i find that works a treat to flush out the bladder

Katymac · 02/09/2006 22:48

They sent me to the drop in last time....I'll go on Monday

what a PIA! i'm sure you'll be fine, get them to send off a sample to analyse in the lab, i know the dipstick was neg but you never know! good luck

I used to keep getting this and it got severe in my pregnancies and when I was asked to give a sample for it to be tested I said that the dipstick showed nothing they said thats a different test, as they will send the sample off for analysis and they test over time to see if the evil little cystitis causing bacteria are growing and will medicate accordingly. Hope this helps
