and manuka honey - take it off the spoon and in the drink, the whiskey wont knock u out.
maunka has excellant antiseptic qualites

ooo .. I've been living on these for 2 days

teaspoon of honey, tot of dark spirit (optional imo but I like rum at night), half a lemon squeezed and about 4 whole cloves then hot water

delicious and very soothing .. my voice has gone, throat sore

You need the 'right' manuka honey btw - really expensive but I know some who swear by it.

Warm milk and honey is good for a sore throat (especially kids)

Hot water, honey and lemon plus a couple of parecetomol = good sleep ime!

Get well soon. We've all got colds here too!

I think it doesn't matter which honey if in a hot toddy because the hot water will kill it off

but manuka honey is good when raw

I would also suggest tot of whiskey in a beechams hot lemon drink .. knocks you out and you wake up feeling much better

I give my DH the following when he has his odd 'man flu' symptoms. It knocks him out (although I'm not sure I'd have a defence if I accidentally OD him one time!) and he feels great the next day:
Take a lemsip extra strength lemon sachet (yes the ones with paracetamol in)
Add it to either hot water or hot lemonade - whichever takes your fancy.
Slog in a good meaure of whisky.

My DH has 1 or 2 depending on how bad the cold is, then sleeps for about 12 hours and is great in the morning.
