Hi
For two weeks I've had a awful cough which then turned into coughing up yellowing phlegm (sorry tmi). Since friday my throat has felt as though I have swolled razor blades. I alternate with being freezing cold to hot from the inside out but today I have the worst lower back pain that has reached my ribs around my upper abdominal area.

I thought it was just a bad chest, any reason for the back and abdomen pain?. I will try get a drs appt but they are few and far between.

Tia

From coughing I expect, you can bruise or crack ribs from coughing. Plus your muscles will be sore from coughing. There's nothing you can do about it, having some it myself.

I think you need checking to make sure you don't have a UTI along with a chest infection. Go to GP tomorrow and get your wee dipped, and your chest listened to. Hopefully it is just a virus and sore muscles.

Thank you.

It is actually a sort of kidney pain feeling. Like when you have held on for the loo too long, but more painful

Does sound like UTI then, do get checked today, you really don't want a full on kidney infection, I had one a while ago and I have honestly never felt so ill. Tell your gP you need to get seen today.

Get checked out for chest infection or pleurisy. The temperature/chills suggest something more than a cough IME.
