try a bit of tea tree oil, it worked wonders for me

Auntymandy · 27/08/2006 18:30

My gp told me if it didnt bother me not to worry. I seem prone to them and no one else in the house has ever had one!

poppiesinaline · 27/08/2006 18:53

DS1 had one but no one else in the family got one. I think they only like damp moist places like swimming pool changing rooms etc. DS1's school make the kids wear those sock things for swimming - nightmare to get on.... and off!!!

We did use that Bazuka stuff and it did work. Took a while though and you have to put it on religiously every night.

Bazuka does work, good luck, amd try not to worry too much

liquidclocks · 27/08/2006 19:05

OMG this brings BAD memories! My mum used to make me soak my foot every night in salt and vinegar - eeugghh!

Bazuka tyoe stuff (can't remember name) eventually cleared it up - if that fails you can freeze it off but only as a last resort coz it's really painful. Just go to a pharmacy and ask for the pharmacist's advice about which brand to go for etc etc - she'll be fine!

clairemow · 27/08/2006 19:11

my gp also told me not to worry about it, unless it hurt or bothered me, and it would go away on its own. It did.

I have used the "Bazuka that verucca" stuff - you just paint it on. I never remembered to use it often enough to get rid of the thing though!

janeite · 27/08/2006 19:17

Bazuka got rid of my dd's one v quickly.

chubbleigh · 27/08/2006 19:18

I have had one for years and it is bloody well painful, all remedies from the chemist have not worked and now being treated by podiatrist. The only thing that seems to have made any difference is getting rid of all the excess dry skin, rubbing tea tree oil into it with a cotton bud and then coving it up with waterproof tape (called sleek tape). Do the oil and new tape everyday. I know people say ignore them but I did that and ended up with something very painful and difficult to get rid of so my advice would be to treat it. I know it sounds a bit much but if I manage to get rid of it this time I will be exstactic.

If you search the archives for banana and verruca you will find a free, effective, painfree remedy for these.

Auntymandy · 28/08/2006 06:39

They have a 'life' and go on there own in time

jabberwocky · 28/08/2006 07:01

When people get them on their eyelids they are easily frozen off. As verucca are in the wart family you could try the duct tape method
