Had such a pain in my back last week that I couldn't move in bed and it made me cry to get up in the morning. Then it moved to my pelvis and gave me sciatica all down my leg. The doc gave me some painkillers but they don't seem to be having much of an effect. Now the pain is all down the side of my lower leg and it is excruciating to walk on.

Where the fuck else is it going to go? Does back ache usually have these sort of repercussions? Don't know what to do with myself.

You need to get the Dr out to you? That sounds awful :(

Oh dear, get yourself over to the Back Pain thread. Lots of support and advice on there. In the meantime get out your hottie and swallow the drugs.

Oh I'm swallowing the drugs alright.

I've googled it - fatal I know - and it does seem to be pretty typical of sciatica. Says it can sometimes take weeks. I will chop my leg off before then. The doc should be ringing me on Thursday.

Trouble is although I know it's probably sciatica I keep remembering about my mums bone cancer and how it used to move around. Scared myself now. Twat.

If you are scared and have history then please ask for a blood test. It really won't hurt
But
Sciatica is agony! And it will be that :gavel:

Could you have a slipped disk or just a disk that has partly popped out and pressing on the nerve?

CiderwithBuda · 29/04/2014 22:10

Chiropractor. Will actually sort it rather than just giving you painkillers.

That's what I thought. I saw the doc once before about a crunchy knee after too much running and he put me in touch with the physio dept. They rang, did an assessment over the phone, sent me a sheet of exercises and I never heard from them again. No one even looked at my knee.

Will give the local ones a ring tomorrow I think. Am off to bed. Doesn't hurt when I lay down.
