Had mine on Thursday and while I'm still a bit swollen and bruised I think it's all healing well. But the trouble is, I'm on a cocktail of drugs including steroids (five days) and two lots of anti-bios (14 days) as well as copious amounts of painkillers, which all seems to have sent me loopy - feeling a bit manic, can't sleep past 3am, horrible night sweats... I've taken the last of the steroids now, so hopefully those were the main culprit.

But I've also got a rubbery mould thing over the stitches (and teeth), which is coming away now as they said it would, but as it's loosening it's tugging at the stitches a bit, which means the area's now more tender than ever!

Will I be OK? There's no sinus pain, so I'm hoping (praying) that the new bone won't become infected.

Have you been through this? How long did it take to heal up? I'm feeling very vulnerable, to be honest! Follow up appt in two weeks.

Thanks! xx

I think it would be fine, and soothing, for you to gargle warm salt water, but you could ask doc for okay.

Thanks Hansie, yes I'm doing the salt water regularly.

Since I posted this I've actually taken a turn for the worse and for the last 24 hours have had a terrible fever but then, one massively violent vomit (TMI, sorry) later and suddenly I'm feeling a bit better!

I'm not sure if this is a reaction to the antibiotics or the withdrawal from the steroids, but it was as if I just needed to get all the nastiness out of my body. I've been so frightened to vomit with a mouth full of stitches.

You have been through the mill. This might scare off anyone from having sinus surgery. ;-)

I had something done related to sinuses but it is pretty distant from yours. I had three teeth implants and for one, the sinus had to be elevated and bone graft material put in, so that there was bone for the post to be inserted in.
