Anyone have any experience of LABYRINTHITIS????

Hi, my husband has been diagnosed today with labyrinthitis, after a week of illness and today passing out twice, being sick and dizzy, and i just wondered if anyone else had any experience of how long it normally lasts??? thanks

thanks so much spacecadet. I did a bit of my own research and her symptoms seemed to me like they might be anxiety attacks but she discounted this and her GP also said it was labs. If it doesn't clear up then the GP will send her for further tests, but your info has been very useful. I will suggest that she asks for an ENT referral.

saadia-she could be hyperventilating, which can make you severly dizzy and its very frightening,she needs a definate diagnosis though, the not knowing whats wrong can be very frightening, good luck at the doctors

judd and ssd, its not a problem, i know how frightening this distressing condition can be and getting answers can be very difficult.

Can anyone tell me if this might be what is wrong with me?

I went on a mini cruise to amsterdam on thursday and came back saturday.

For a couple of days afterwards I felt very woozy, sick, dizzy and funny vision as well as popping and blocked feeling in my ear (suffer alot with the ear problem)

I put it down to just the feeling of motion taking a while to go.

But its getting worse and surely CANT still be from the ferry?

The thing is my sister (who was with me on the trip) is feeling quite the same as me - could it be a virus we have both picked up?

Hi I have had labyrinthitis for 2 months now and the head aches and dizziness is getting worse I’ve been to a consultant and had an mri scan.
I was thinking all sorts was up with me I’m just struggling with it badly and could do with some advise off people who have had it because all I’ve been doing is thinking the worst any advise or help would be really appreciated.

How are you now? I’ve been struggling for a month with this. It doesn’t appear to be getting any better. I’ve lost a stone in weight so far because I feel so sick but I don’t have true vertigo in that I feel dizzy and light headed & nothing is spinning. I keep doubting the diagnosis.
