I have just heard on the news that the new bottled water drink by coca cola has been taken of shelves in u.k because of a high level of some chemical.
I bought some of it the other week for ds as i'd forgotten his juice and thought i was being a good mom buying him water (plus it was BOGOF).

The spokeswoman has just said "the risk of cancer is very small"

How could they let in the shelves in the first place. Any amount of risk is too much.

Oh thanks for that KS. Forgot that i'd also druken a bottle myself too.
I should learn to listen properly though, as they probably said in the report that it was enought to do any harm, but i was runnning around like a headless chicken by then

what are the chances that dasani is quietly dropped by coke after this latest excitement? I nominate it for a gold medal for "worst PR connected with launch of a new expensive product in the history of the world ever"!

SoupDragon · 19/03/2004 19:29

Is this their purer-than-pure, pure water then?

MY first thought when I heard this was that people had probably pretty much stopped buying it after hearing where it came from (no offence to anyone in Sidcup! )

WideWebWitch · 20/03/2004 21:17

Oh, this so serves them right! This is the most Emperor's New Clothes marketing thing I've come across in a long time. (sorry, not very coherent but hope ykwim!)

WideWebWitch · 20/03/2004 21:18

Sorry, nutcracker, I really don't think you should worry though.

Dh and his staff spent a large part of Thursday setting up a promotion which offered large popcorn, large drink and a free dasani (he is a cinema manager btw) - they had stickers, posters, etc, etc and they were all over the cinema. On Friday at midday, they had a call from their HO saying "get rid of it all, quick". How amused was he?
