Had a Barium Swallow this morning. Can't stop puking.

Just that really. I had a barium swallow test at 9am this morning. It went fine & I felt ok afterwards. But at about 10ish I felt sick & then was very sick. I've been throwing up every 15 minutes of so since then.
I ate some cereal as soon as I got home after the test, that all came up the first time I was sick. Since then I've just had water, which I keep throwing up.
I'm never sick usually. It's horrible!
Has anyone had this? How long is it likely to last? I'm meant to be doing a 13 hour night shift tonight.

I have no experience but just wanted to say hope it stops soon. Is there a number you can call where you had it done for advice. Maybe they can prescribe something for the sickness. Could you phone in sick for work. You might be feeling too weak to work or concentrate. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for replying. I haven't been sick for about 90 minutes now so maybe it's ok now. I've managed to drink a fair bit too as they told me I'd have to otherwise I'd get terribly constipated.
I daren't phone in sick tonight, they'd never get anyone else to work at this late hour!
Might try for an hours nap now & then go into work & try to take it easy.

I did. Thanks for asking I was sick once at work at about 8pm & then I felt ok, bit nauseous but not sick again.
I'm knackered now though. But I don't feel sick.
Must've just been a nasty reaction to the barium.

Hope you are feeling ok now. I couldn't have gone to work feeling sick you were very brave.
