what's the best thing for them for someone who refuses to go to a doc?

i've suggested a few things but i might discover something miraculous on here from you guys!

merocaine lozenges or gargling with soluble aspirin or paracetamol

hot toddy if it's an adult. Honey, oj and whisky topped up with hot water take a paracetemol with it.

well he finaly gave in and went to the doc, and he has tonsilitis, so he has anti biotics now, problem solved
