Cold Sores

Looking for best thing to get rid of cold sore fast - got family pictures Saturday and need it cleared up TIA

if it's too late for Zovirax (ie it's not just the first tingle) alcohol is the stuff - apparently perfume is often recommended but surgical spirit (from pharmacy) tastes less bad. Dab on with cotton wool every couple of hours or every time you think about it. Hurts like buggery but does the job.
(NB Vodka etc aren't strong enough, tempting though it seems)

Thanks MrsB will head to chemist at lunchtime and hopefully get some. Pity about the vodka would have been good excuse
