sore swollen breasts

Iam 36 and a mother of 4 and have been getting sore and swollen breasts for about 4 and a half years now. Normaly they would be sore and swollen for 5 to 7 days a month (not period related as i have had an hystorectamy)they settled down for about 5 months but now they are sore for about 2 weeks at a time with only 1 or 2 weeks of no pain in between.
Doctor checked them out about 3 years ago and found nothing strange.
Any suggestions on what could be causing the pain would be appreciated. I feel like i am full of breast milk and ready to feed my baby lol

my mum had a hysterectomy but she still gets sore breasts and very teary when she should have a period.

I'm no expert but i would say it's maybe hormonal. the only time I've ever had sore breasts was when pg and also when having side effects from hormone contrceptive injections which i was very sensitive too apparently. maybe it's some kind of imbalance?
