I went through menopause 2 years ago at 46 but last 5 weeks been spotting not much though phoned gp took 3 weeks to see him, after talking to some one on here I rang back but still couldn't get in earlier anyway I go next Wednesday . So what's the % it's nothing to worry about and does this happen to lots of woman?

The answer is YES. GPs are, however, instructed to take no chances and investigate.
Happened to me twice on HRT when I was stressed about something and each time I had a hysteroscopy as my left ovary was not visible under ultra sound due to a Cone biopsy years earlier with CIN3 cells.
Nothing was found.
46 is rather young to be definitely post menopausal.
A friend's periods stopped after her 41st birthday, never to see another spot of blood. Most women though have erratic bleeding up until 52 or later.

Yes and no.

Post manopausal bleeding has to be checked, as it can be a symptom of some serious issues. But it can also be something like cervical polyps, which are nearly always benign and simple and painless to remove. Is the bleeding random, or is it after sex?

I had irregular bleeding & it was a uterine polyp plus a cervical polyp.

They took them out and I've been fine since.
