I've just been notified that from the 4th September the immunisation schedules for babies changes. I've known this was in the pipeline for some time (am a HV) but am amazed we haven't had more notice about it here. It'll affect all the babies I've seen in the last few weeks and I haven't been able to discuss it with parents.
I've copied the schedule below from the NHS immunisation site
- The new routine vaccination schedule:
2 months DTaP/IPV/Hib + pneumococcal vaccine
3 months DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC vaccine
4 months DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC + pneumococcal vaccine
12 months Hib/Men C
13 months MMR + pneumococcal vaccine
DTaP/IPV/Hib is a single injection that protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Hib.
MenC protects against meningitis C
Hib/ MenC is a combined vaccine protecting against Hib and Meningitis C
- Parents and health professionals will be able to access information about the changes to the routine programme on the immunisation website immunisation.nhs.uk
