Does this sound like testicula cancer to you, or could it be something else?

Hi, I have finally managed to persuade my DH to see a doctor after months of a dull ache in his left testicle and a feeling of heaviness. The ache has become more intense recently and he also has pain in one side of his lower back.
I don't know if there is a lump as he never checks. He says he doesn't know how.
He has an appointment at 2pm with the GP.
Does this sound like cancer to you, and if not, what else could it be?

but its great that he is going to the GP then you will have a definitive answer and no more what ifs ?

That's true. Would they be able to tell him today if it's a cyst or not?

Possibly - but its more likely they will send him for a scan - the same sort of procedure when you are pregnant.

Well he's been. The Dr said that he couldn't feel any lumps and it all felt normal so that's it! He said that it could be related to stress?
I'm glad he thought it was all o.k, but that doesn't explain the symptoms really. I'm just hoping he hasn't missed something.

It could be epididimytis. Get him to get back and get some antibiotics. It is easily treatable.

There was a man on reddit a while ago who poas and got a positive result, another poster pointed out this can be a symptom of testicular cancer which it turned out the OP had but wasn't aware of. Maybe your DH could poas to put your minds at ease?

Hi op, did his gp take any blood?

My dh's testicular cancer was discovered partly due to a tumour marker in his blood which was found to be raised. If I remember correctly, the tumour marker is called beta-hgc (or something very similar).

Don't worry to much - best let a doc check it out. He should check on a regular basis.

Could easily be Epididymitis which can be caused by bacteria and is easily treated.

I'll ask another question - has he had a vasectomy in the past ? Could well be Post Vasectomy pain syndrome also !!!

The GP's are pretty crap in my opinion with blokes bits.
