Sorry to say that but my piles (interior and exterior) are quite painful atm.
Checked my medicines and found our both ointment and suppositories I have are out of date (08/2013).
They contain cinchocaine hydrochloride and hydrocortisone.
I will be able to see my gp in the middle of next week.
Can I use my leftover medicines till then? Will they do any harm?
Thanks for your advices in advance Thanks.

I would use them.

Really IHaveSeenMyHat :), that's good news.
I was worried about the cortisone thing a bit, I know it is something strong.
Also, I don't keep suppositories in fridge, before expiry time I never bothered about this.

I would phone a pharmacist for advice.

I thought of asking a pharmacist but they will try to sell me something else which won't be much use to me. Proctosedyl works best with me.

I wish I could be able to buy proctosedyl over the counter really.

I think you get a month or so after the expiry date on meds but I'd say it would have 'gone off' by now. It probably wouldn't be effective if you used it.

Thanks to everyone. You all gave me valuable advices.
I asked to pharmacists today, they said 6 months after expiry date could be ok.
So I don't think I'm going to use them and try to get new ones as soon as possible.
Thanks again. Thanks
