He's roughly the same weight as my little nephew.....hasn't anybody ever told you?????

Ignore HV!

Ask yourself.....is he happy, settled, thriving contented???

Well then!

Just got DS weighed... he was born on the 9th centile, went down to the 2nd, now above 25th centile. Its very normal in BF babies, and ive been told it does tail off. Be proud!

Oh - and HV yesterday at clinin said that weight gain drops off once LO starts crawling, playing, being more active too.

jalopy · 09/08/2006 14:18

My little one was 18 lbs 3oz at 4 months. He was breastfed too. Maybe the health visitor thinks he doesn't need supplementary formula.

My SILs little girl is 14 months and 26lb, my Dd is 2.2 and 26lb.

All LOs are different, as long as they can move around properly, and do all that they should be doing, dont worry.

Ive spent countless months worrying that Dd is too small!

Panyanpickle77 · 09/08/2006 16:18

ds was 17lb 15oz at 12 weeks. He's breast fed and my HV had no problem with him! Last time he was weighed he was 28lb14oz at 50 weeks (still breast fed) and HV still had no problem......Some HV's are way tooooooo stringent, don't stress

Nemo1977 · 09/08/2006 16:40

really wouldnt worry I was always told ds was very big for his age[he was tall and stocky] now told he is slightly underweight..still tall but thin as he his hyper....just ignore.
