Fear of surgery & hospitals

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this phobia.
I did a thread a while ago on fear of GA which was useful.
I was booked in for surgery last week but due to problems with asthma it didn't go ahead.I had already been admitted before the anaesthetist pulled. the plug. Whilst there for a few hours it made me realise just how scared I had got myself.
Silly I know as my condition is by no means life threatening but would be interested to hear from others who have had similar experiences.I need to get my head in the right place for the next trip as I do need to have this procedure done.

I have a fear of hospitals. Not surgeries themselves, but just really bad fear to the point where I need to be sedated to stay in a hospital.
You should ask if you can be given a mild sedative beforehand, it does really help.

I can't even describe how severe my phobia is. I can't even go there in my head
