I was looking for some help for a friend. She wants to take her daughters on holiday to Florida in October. He youngest daughter has a heart condition and GOSH have said that they are happy for them to go. The problem she is having is insurance companies. Almost all of them said no straight away and the one who said yes wants £800. All of this becuase her youngest daughter is not classed as "fixed" but is stable

Does anyone have any suggestions of companies that she can try that won't cost the earth?

Speak to the social workers at GOSH, they may have suggestions as to companies.

Same here really, dd is 'fixed', ie had a liver transplant, but still has to pay the price with excessive insurance etc. Doesn't seem fair that her life has been saved but she will always pay top wack in so many ways. Sorry bit of a rant.

These insurance companies make me absalutely hopping mad. They make it so hard to take out insurance, and then are so determined not to pay out.
I have Asthma along with two of my ds's and my dh has epilepsy. Nothing too serious thank god, but the hassle I had taking out insurance just to go to France FFS
God knows what it's like for your families
