Labia lump

God, this is soooo embarrasing, and I also cannot be arsed to change my nickname to raise it!

I have a sore lump on one of my labia - probably about the size of a small pea. Hurts to walk even, and ttc is soooo painful, but it is a crucial time of the month.

Anyone had these before?

Probably a cyst/blocked pore.

I had one ages ago and it eventually burst (yuk, yuk!)

theladyvanishes · 04/08/2006 14:34

erm it could be a spot, you can get them down there you know, I would give it a day or so to see if it calms down (luke warm bath no bubblebath) ring your health clinic and speak to a nurse tho if you are really concerned

WigWamBam · 04/08/2006 14:35

I had one of these - it was a Bartholin's cyst. There's a gland there that can get a bit swollen, and a cyst can form which causes a blockage in the duct from the gland. They're usually only sore if they get infected so get the GP to check it out.

twice I hava had a terribly sore lump that grew into the biggest (2) whiteheads I have ever had. I got my mum to take a look the first time - they took a long time to come to a head.

JackieNo · 04/08/2006 14:39

Yes, I've had the odd spot down there too - really painful.

Sexonlegs · 04/08/2006 14:46

Thanks all, am glad I am not alone! I could never ask my friends in RL about this!
I may get a mirror and have a closer inspection - obviously not right now, as am at work!!!

would just warn you that mine were hard red pea like lumps for a while before looking like spots. very very painful - lanced them with a pin eventually!! def tmi

Sexonlegs · 04/08/2006 14:58

Oh strongmints, my eyes have watered with the thought of you piercing them! Blimey I bet that hurt, although I guess it releases the gunk that is in it and causing the pain - sorry tmi.

give it a good squeeze... see what happens

oxocube · 04/08/2006 15:26

Agree this is horribly painful but not uncommon

manitz · 04/08/2006 16:33

urgh, after birth of dd2 and lots of other infections was horrified to get a boil. they gave me antibiotics which got rid. if you've recently had abirth and have had tears I think you should get antibios as infection could spread. wouldn't personally lance anything there, makes feet go tingly to even think about it

I agree with the warm bath, or get a flannel with as hot water as you can bear and hold it against lump. Provided the spot has a head, it is a good way to draw it out and make it easier to squeeze.

Sexonlegs · 07/08/2006 11:28

Hi ladies, labia lump has gone! No squeezing or anything - it just seems to have disappeared without a trace - hurrah! Can now bd without any pain!!
