3 years ago today ds2 came out with chickenpox, he was quite poorly with it and i was worried at the time as he has a slight immune deficiency.
exactly a year to the day he came out with the same cp rash but was otherwise fine and stayed fine although the doctor told me he had cp again.

now, unbelievably ds2 has had a temperature and tonight i notice the spots again! it's the same bloody date aswell! (i know coz it's my brothers birthday)

whats the chance of him having chickenpox again? should i take him to the docs? i was wondering about the nasal spray he has stopped using the other week as it says avoid anyone with chickenpox as the spray could increase your chances of getting the complications.

help, any advice?

was also wondering about hand foot and mouth? i vaguely remember ds1 having it and it ended being all over rather than just hf and m.

FF - I've had chicken pox twice, but still had to have a blood test in pregnancy coz I'd come in contact with the virus again. You can catch it again. Usually the first infection is mild (sometimes so mild you pass it off as a random virus)....the 2nd is usually a full blown wham!

It could be chicken pox again, but Hand Foot and Mouth blisters do look similar. My ds had that and it wasn't just his hands feet and mouth. I remember he had lots on his knees. ALthough it doesn't usually come with a fever.

Where are the spots?

a few on his face, some neck, back and chest. this morning there were some very faint dots and now they look more noticeable and a bit raised.

we go on hols in a few days too.

My dd1 and dd2 had hand foot and mouth recently.I think the spots are quite different to the fluid filled c/pox spots.
I would see the docs or pharmasist and get their opinion.

Are they blistering? There are loads of viruses that can cause rashes like that. May not be the Pox.
