Painful and burning urine. What to do?

I have been feeling burning sensation while passing urine since 2-3 days. Now it has reached a point where it's burning and very painful. I am also going to the loo very frequently. But the amount of urine is no more than 2-3table spoons. I currently have a cold so am drinking plenty of water and that could be the reason of frequent trips but the amount is tiny.
I had high fever for a couple of days as well but that it was due to the cold. Can someone help.

Poor you, it sounds like cystitis. Drink more water and get yourself to the out of hours clinic in the morning for some anti-biotics. They usually work very quickly.

Thanks tall. I have googled cystitis. I have the exact symptoms. Will go and see a GP tomorrow.

If suffering still right now and you have BICARBONATE OF SODA in the house have some of that dissolved in water. Tastes vile but will work.
Loads of water 8 pints in 24 hours(!) to flush out the bacteria, cranberry juice to prevent a next attack, lemon barley squash can help - you can get over the counter remedies if you cannot wait for GP - Canesten powders.
Nip it in bud so you do not end up with kidney infection.
Avoid bubble bath, tight pants, honeymoon sex(!) and just take a shower
Even though it is like weeing glass and you do not feel empty go as often as you can and alert your other half too

Thank you for your helpful advice. Me and DS went down with a bad cold and high fever and have not been able to see the GP yet. I am now feeling severe pain in my kidneys. I'm still feeling so lethargic. Is there anything I could do at home?

You really really need to see a doctor - if the infection goes to your kidneys, it can be quite dangerous.
Call your GP and explain

GP says there is no appointment for today. I have booked a call back with them for now. Gawwd its awfull:(

I would seriously think about going to A&E

Hey Tante. I called in and told them about the kidney pain and they asked me to come in straight away. I'm on antibiotics and pain killers now and already feeling so much better.
