He had a minor op today to remove a cyst from his head.

We really didn't realise how bad it would be. He now has quite a big scar stitches and is in agony, poor love

He has had as many painkillers as he can but is in so much pain and the scar is bleeding.

I just don't know what to do to help him take the pain away.

Could do with some strong sleeping pills but don't have any in.

Do you have any night nurse in? it does'nt matter that he does'nt have a cold, it will still help him sleep.

Oh Blossomhill I saw this thread and now I'm scared!! Have to have one removed from my head this month. Have had it for ages and it never bothered me but I'm worried it will get bigger. Did your dh have it removed under local or general? I know it hurts now but if he had a local did the injection hurt? Sorry for the questions...
BTW you can take Nurofen at the same time as paracetomal (spelling)

Hollyboo ~ sorry to scare you but what they did to dh was horrific!

He was wide awake and keeps having flash backs to feeling his hair and skin being tugged.

Sorry to put you off but if you honestly don't need to then please don't have it done.

I am so upset by what I have seen today and the scar is going to be far worse than the lump believe me

Oooooh noooooo.... Have to have it done, heard a horror story that if it gets too big I'll be left with a huge bald patch with a hangy down thing of skin like my Grandad. Uuuugh. Damm this cyst, it comes from my Dad's side of the family, with their lumpy heads.
Should I make sure dh comes with me?

Blossomhill · 01/08/2006 23:59

Yes go with dh. Mine was in no state to drive home. He was okay and infacf we were in b & q about 2 hours after but he feels rough now, poor love!

Oh hopefully it won't be too bad. Dh will just have to make sure he looks after me and brings me for dinner before the pain really sets in

Blossomhill · 02/08/2006 00:07

you'll live!

DT1 had a cyst on her head and it went by itself within 12 months.

Oooh I should be so lucky, have had for a few years now.
