oh look should I go to A&E or not - tight chest

that's it really
am 10 and half weeks pregnant
don't as far as I know have asthma, but have had hay fever the last few days.
noticed the tight chest yesterday, this evening it seems worse and I feel a bit shaky. also thought I had what felt like a heart palpitation yesterday. I wouldn't say I'm having terrible trouble breathing but it's just not right.

it's just the thought of going to A&E - yuk. (Have only been twice in my life I think, and not for years). And worry I'm overreacting, and actually I feel ropey because of the morning (more like all day) sickness.

nhs direct?

MrsJohnCusack · 01/08/2006 22:14

yes I always forget about them!
might give it a go
I hate the thought of being a hypochondriac but this really is unusual for me

Why don't you try nhs direct?

edam · 01/08/2006 22:14

why not phone NHS Direct?

foxinsocks · 01/08/2006 22:16

are you a bit dehydrated? perhaps try having a big drink and see how you feel

there is an out of hours doc at Teddington Memorial but I think you just missed the closing time

anthonykiedisbitontheside · 01/08/2006 22:16

I would go and get it checked out if I were you just to make sure it's nothing sinister. I'm sure it's just a bug. You haven't got any leg pain have you?

MrsJohnCusack · 01/08/2006 22:16

yes I've been to Teddington several times with DD and her various capers!

it seems to be getting a bit worse now. am going to ring

Go to A & E... I went to out of hours doctor and was admitted with suspected blood clot... was only heartburn thought (VERY common in pregnancy), but id still go if I were you.

CaptainCavemansMummy · 01/08/2006 22:22

How did you get on with ringing?

Hope they put your mind at rest or suggested what to do?

MrsJohnCusack · 02/08/2006 08:39

well, I went to have a 'quick' lie down before phoning - next thing I knew it was 7am

think I was panicking a little. will keep an eye on it today and try to get to the doctors

thanks for all the v.sensible advice
